You get the same experiments with heat and vapor in a setup some people find easier to manage at the start.

You can focus on the parts that matter: watching temperature, seeing how vapor behaves, and learning where to make your cuts. Think of it as a lab bench where you control the variables.

Your first steps

A note on the law
Owning a still is legal in the US, and a still can be used to distill water or essential oils. Distilling alcohol requires a federal TTB permit. Always follow federal, state, and local law.
